Sending second-hand machines all over the world

A broker from the world of boxmakers

Carl Ingolf Lange's business concept - not one for quick-bargains - sounds simple: "People ask me - and sometimes we do business with each other". Since 1980 the Ludwigsburg based Carl Ingolf Lange GmbH has been transporting second-hand machines from all over the world to everywhere conceivable: Automatic punching machines, folder-gluers, board liners, circular shears, slittting machines, high-speed cutters etc. - machines with name plates well known in the industry: Bobst and Jagenberg, International and Peters, Klett, Stock, Polar, Wohlenberg and many more. Lange does not sell old junk but fully usable facilities, worth their price.

For instance just now in eastern Europe, where young entrepreneurs face an immense need for investments, Lange has helped to reduce the risk for quite a few companies by selling his second-hand machines.

Lange has just come back from Thailand. There he helped a small producer of shoe boxes, who had "30 hand platen in his workshop. Each cardboard box had to be set up, punched and folded individually and manually - from our point of view, this is nonsense as far as industrial management is concerned. This man has now made it: with the four autoplaten I could procure for him. The business is economically efficient - without any reduction of staff. This man not only stays in business, he will even expand."

His worldwide connections keep providing him with the latest information. Where are areas of production being cut down? Who is modernizing his productionline? Who is looking for just this machine being released? Of course, he not only picks up trade-internal information, he also passes it on. The "blue letters" from Ludwigsburg with offers and inquiries have been well known in the world of boxmakers for a long time. "I see to it that chances are used that exist for buyers and sellers regarding exchange rates - not only where to but also when can a facility be transferred on particularly favorable conditions".

An example of allround customer service is the Genco-Ward Container 18000/Super, constructed in 1976 in East Germany, and on the sales list for two years before Lange could ship the 54-meter machine, carefully packed in fourteen 40-ft. containers to the US. "I find transport routes, make contracts with forwarders and insurers; if necessary I check the second-hand machines as thoroughly as possible myself" His best sales argument: Inspected brand quality on favorable conditions!

Lange has risen from the ranks in his trade, growingup in a cardboard mill. Informer East Germany, his father had a business, that later moved to Ludwigsburg. Carl Ingolf Lange took over - and sold his father's company in 1980. He could not have brought a better-founded know-how to his new business.
